Verbose address bar autocomplete announcements in NVDA |
||||||||||||||||||||||
Issue descriptionNVDA is quite verbose when the address bar gets focused. NVDA says, "[Current tab title] window main tool bar Address and search bar edit has auto complete selected [Current URL]". Taking the extra utterances one at a time: - I can see an argument for reading the current tab title. If that is not beneficial we should ask NVDA to change this. - "window" -- this seems entirely unhelpful, ask NVDA to remove. - "Main toolbar" -- we should just remove this ourselves - "Has autocomplete" -- perhaps it would be a lot more helpful to say this after the current value of the text field? It's annoying enough right now that I almost want to lie and leave this attribute off. Checking with Mick from NVDA on how best to proceed.

Still says "Has autocomplete" and "Ctrl+L" before getting to the useful info, but that is an NVDA design decision that they say their users are accustomed to.
