Inconsistencies with "clickable" verbalization

Project Member Reported by lpalmaro@chromium.org, Dec 5 2017

Issue description

OS: Windows

Reported feedback from Googler, anecdotally reproducing across Chrome versions.

Things that are clickable aren’t reported correctly. This happens a lot. Either they have “clickable” appended to the end or there is nothing appended to the end. One such place are the “round trip” “one way” and “multicity” options on the www.kayak.com site. However, this is very common across the web. It’s not possible to know whether the option is clickable or not. Many things which are clearly not clickable are reported as such by Jaws 18, which contributes to this problem.

This bug isn't actionable right now. Please find some examples of specific elements in specific sites where "clickable" is announced incorrectly where the same element announces it correctly in Firefox.

If no specific examples are known, this should be closed or at least taken off the hotlist.

Status: Archived (was: Available)
Closing as archived while waiting on examples of items reported as clickable that are not actually clickable.
