Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Install Android gmail app
2. See the "tablet" split mode w/o external screen
3. Close gmail app
4. Attach external display
5. Open gmail app

What is the expected behavior?
Gmail app looks the same with external display and without, and starts in Tablet mode - which is nice and expected for a chromebook

What went wrong?
Gmail starts in "phone" mode although it is stretched all over the 27" full HD screen
