Considering it only sometimes does not work, and it works for most users, it may take some time to track down this problem. For starters, I would definitely try disabling all extensions and see if that makes a difference. Questions: 1) Can you right click on the blank print preview dialog to bring up a context menu, like one should be able to on a webpage? 2) Instead of ctrl + p, does printing with the system dialog via ctrl + shift + p work?

I also wondering if this is a graphics issue. Can you try the --disable-gpu flag and see if that makes a difference? https://www.chromium.org/developers/how-tos/run-chromium-with-flags
