The bottom sheet intercepts touches in its content area to determine whether vertical swipes should open/close the sheet or scroll the content.
It seems that it does not let horizontal swipes go through, making it impossible to swipe content suggestions away while the bottom sheet is not completely open.
This gesture detection issue is also observed for a short time after the bottom sheet is completely open.
