Chrome App is still blacklisted as malware, although review cleared it for Web Store

Reported by devteam_...@netop.com, Dec 2 2017

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/62.0.3202.94 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Go to Chrome Web Store
2. Install extension https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/hfpdkhblendlpcghglglcamcnicbkppp
3. App is installed but immediately disabled as malware.

What is the expected behavior?
App should be installed and active

What went wrong?
Our App was suddenly taken down from Chrome Web Store a few days ago. I've made an appeal to the Google Chrome Web Store team and they've reinstated the app after a review, no reason given. However the app is still being disabled in Chrome upon installation, after more than 48 hours after being reinstated.

I've searched and found several similar issues, all without resolution. I've notified the Chrome Web Store support and they've (surprisingly) redirected me to this board.

Further investigating the Chromium source code, I've managed to download the extensions blacklist via the Safe Browsing API - and found that our app id is in there still. I guess that either something went wrong with an automated tool or with a manual process.

I have no idea on how to get the app back to normal - as I don't know who owns the Safe Browsing extensions blacklist.
Any help would be greatly appreciated - this issue has brought our business to a complete halt.

Did this work before? Yes

Does this work in other browsers? Yes

Chrome version: 62.0.3202.94 Channel: stable
OS Version: 10.0
Flash Version:

I apologize beforehand, since I realize that this is most likely not the place to post this, but I have been redirected here by the Google Chrome Web Store team, who considered this a Chromium issue.

The app has been removed from the Safe Browsing chrome extension blacklist, after we've apparently succeeded to push through to Google support. It appears to be working properly for the moment.
We have not received any confirmation or a reason for the initial blacklisting.

So, unless someone thinks that this could be a back-end system tool-related bug, I think the issue should be closed.

Thank you!

Able to reproduce this issue on reported version 62.0.3202.94 and on latest canary 65.0.3285.0 using Windows10 , Mac 10.13.1 and Ubuntu 14.04 with steps mentioned in comment#0. i.e;Error is seen on launching app.

This issue is seen from M50[50.0.2166.0]. Hence considering this issue as Non-Regression and marking as Untriaged.

Could someone from Platform>Extensions team take a look into this.

Thanks!
