change of user avatar |
||||
Issue descriptionThis is seen in recent versions - 63, 63. I have a test account which had an avatar associated with it. At some point a couple of months ago I tried logging in into a chromebook running a non yet released version (it was probably 62 at the time), and the login process required that I picked a new (origami based) avatar for this account. The old avatar is not available ever since, it was still showing on computers where the account existed before updates to 62 (IIRC), but from then on, each time the account is logged in on a chromebook device the new avatar is associated with it.

So good news and bad news: Good news is that this has been fixed and no other users will encounter this upon updating. Bad news is that now that Chrome Sync has the new avatar, it will propagate everywhere. Best bet is to download the original images from chromium and set them as a custom profile picture, which should then sync. Going to close this as the underlying issue is fixed.

Finally was able to find these, they are here: https://cs.chromium.org/chromium/src/ui/chromeos/resources/default_100_percent/default_user_images/ |
