No way to download image from site.com/image.jpg |
||||||||||||||||||||||||
Issue descriptionSteps to reproduce the problem: 1. Visit an image url (e.g. https://www.google.com/images/branding/googlelogo/2x/googlelogo_color_272x92dp.png) 2. Long-press the image 3. Observe that nothing happens when you long press, and there's no way to download the image you are looking at What is the expected behavior? It is possible to download the image by long-pressing it, as you can on a page that embeds the image as an element. What went wrong? Should be possible to download an image either from a page including the image (e.g. https://www.google.com) and from navigating to the image itself (e.g. https://www.google.com/images/branding/googlelogo/2x/googlelogo_color_272x92dp.png). Currently it's only possible to do this from the embedding page, which doesn't work if you have a link to the image that doesn't embed it. Did this work before? N/A Chrome version: 62.0.3202.70 Channel: stable OS Version: 11.1.2 (15B202) Flash Version: This means that if you browse gallery sites that have a limited-resolution preview and a link to the full resolution version, there's no way to download the full resolution version in iOS chrome.

Needs a better triage. Image download is not Glue.

Possibly a better description is that long pressing an image on the image page should have the same behavior as it would if it were an element in an HTML page.
