What is the expected behavior?
On line 9 of the HTML section <g id="shadow" style="fill: var(--shadowcolor, #066C62);">
this variable fill property should be honored in the paths within in. The shadow colors should match what I see in the safari.png version.

What went wrong?
The SVG g element's style should be inherited by its children.

Removing/commenting out the 'svg g' selector - and thus the 'transition' of the 'fill' property "fixes" the resolution of 'fill', so this looks like another instance of issue 618142.
