Introducing the new Chrome 2D Pop-up appears while in Chrome VR

What steps will reproduce the problem?

It looks like if you don't have Chrome Home enabled, and you visit google.com in Chrome VR, there is an alert message under the search input field that says "Try an easier way to browse ...". I clicked on that and a 2D pop-up appeared. See screenshot.

I'm not sure how to reproduce this since I selected OK on the message. 

What is the expected result? No 2D pop-ups should ever appear in Chrome VR

What happens instead? A 2D pop-up appears
