Patch available at https://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/9966135/ ("[media] hdpvr: Fix an error handling path in hdpvr_probe()"). Only enabled in beaglebone images. Fix not yet upstream. Will fix with stable release merge if/when available since there is no direct impact. WontFix in kernels older than 4.4.

Status update requested from upstream maintainer.

Comment 3 by groeck@chromium.org, Dec 20 2017

Status: WontFix (was: ExternalDependency)
Now in linux-next but not marked for inclusion in stable releases. We have to assume that it won't be applied to older kernels or even to v4.15. Marking as WontFix per #1.
