Chrome Vox

Reported by sjw...@gmail.com, Nov 25 2017

Issue description

I am trying to find a way to read a book aloud in Google Play Books on my Chromebook. Every search result tells me to use Chrome Vox, however, even once I do get it to read a page, I have to shut it off, turn the page, and then turn it back on again. Is there a way to begin the voice reading that will allow it to seamlessly scroll from page to page until I stop it? (Like Google Play books "read aloud" feature does on any other device). I like to listen to my books when I am driving, so obviously messing with turning Chrome Vox on and off. I really don't understand why Chromebook can't just allow Play Book to read to me like it will on any other device.

ChromeVox is a screen reader, meant to read what's on your screen as you navigate it. I'm not sure what you mean about turning it off (since you should be able to use ChromeVox to navigate), but regardless it's probably not the feature for what you want.

+Laura for help on the Chrome OS + Play Books interaction.

There was a recent update and Google Play books now includes the "Read Aloud" feature on Chromebook! Yay
