Black screen in Chrome VR content window |

Issue descriptionChrome Version: 63.0.3239.60 VrCore: 1.10.172754103 OS: Android N Device: Pixel XL I have been able to repro this intermittently but frequently by transitioning in and out of Chrome VR from WebVR presentations by hitting the app button on the controller. What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) Enter WebVR presentation on https://webvr.info/samples/03-vr-presentation.html (2) Press app button on controller to transition to Chrome VR (3) Repeat What is the expected result? Chrome VR's content window should never be black. What happens instead? Chrome VR's content window is black, see screenshot. And navigating back doesn't resolve the issue, the url changes but the content window is still black.

I was able to repro it by closing Chrome, waiting for a little bit (< 1 min) and then following the steps above. I couldn't repro every time, but it is pretty frequent.

also note that once it occurs, if you exit VR and re-enter VR it goes away.

I can't repro using today's canary or ToT on either a Pixel or an S8.

I also can't repro on today's M64 ToT canary. Maybe it just exists on M63.

David, I'd suggest just closing this one if you can't repro on 64/65.

There was a known issue that looks related, but was a freezing screen and not black. See https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=794266 , this should be fixed in Canary but the patch still isn't in M64. Unless you can repro this on M64 Beta or current Canary, I'd suggest closing this one.

I think we can close this one. Bug 799999 is very similar, but perhaps a different issue.
