Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:59.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/59.0 Steps to reproduce the problem: I tried to updated Google Canary to latest version: 64.0.3273.0 and an error message now displays. "The program can't start because openvr.api.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem." What is the expected behavior? For Google Canary not to totally crash and die What went wrong? So this error window came directly from when I was updating Google Canary. I have deleted Google Canary from the computer and tried re-installing it and still get this error message. Can someone please tell me how to fix this error as I have done a search in Google Search and it displays zero answers to this error message with regards to Google Chrome. Crashed report ID: nope How much crashed? Whole browser Is it a problem with a plugin? N/A Did this work before? N/A Chrome version: 64.0.3273.0 Channel: n/a OS Version: 6.1 (Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2) Flash Version: You forced me to use Firefox!!! Help me to get back to Google Canary.

Thank you for the link,. For me, placing openvr_api.dll from https://github.com/ValveSoftware/openvr/tree/master/bin/win64 in c:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome SxS\Application\ fixes the issue on Windows 7 x64

Re "forced to use Firefox", please keep in mind that the Canary build is bleeding edge software intended for developer testing. You should install stable Chrome alongside it as a regular browser for normal use. |
