Chrome Canary won't open

Reported by majinveg...@gmail.com, Nov 19 2017

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; Win64; x64; rv:57.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/57.0

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. The browser does not open
2.
3.

What is the expected behavior?

What went wrong?
When I try to open the browser it says that computer is missing openvr_api.dll. The default version of chrome is opening fine. But canary reports that problem and don't open. I tried to reinstall the application but it keeps the same result.

Did this work before? N/A

Chrome version: canary Channel: canary

 Issue 786778
I can't launch Chrome Canary 64 on Win X either.
Uninstalled, resinstalled, no avail.
I am not presented with an error message.

Failed to load Chrome DLL from C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome SxS\Application\64.0.3273.0\chrome.dll: The specified module could not be found.

Following upgrade of Chrome Canary today, it won't launch from taskbar or start menu. No error message. Same after Uninstall, reinstall x2. Occurred on two separate computers. Download default Chrome, works OK. Win 10
