chromeos-4.14: atmel_mxt_ts fails to instantiate on caroline

The following error is seen when booting chromeos-4.14 on caroline.

[    3.004511] atmel_mxt_ts i2c-ATML0001:00: No platform data specified
[    3.012021] atmel_mxt_ts: probe of i2c-ATML0001:00 failed with error -22
[    3.031741] atmel_mxt_ts i2c-ATML0000:00: No platform data specified
[    3.039143] atmel_mxt_ts: probe of i2c-ATML0000:00 failed with error -22

The touchpad does not work.
