When I opened the lid a bit later, I saw a login screen instead of the lock screen. It looks like the EC crashed and the system rebooted: ... 280 | 2017-11-17 06:51:48 | ACPI Wake | Deep S3 281 | 2017-11-17 06:54:08 | ACPI Enter | S3 282 | 2017-11-17 07:18:54 | EC Event | Lid Open 283 | 2017-11-17 07:18:54 | ACPI Wake | Deep S3 284 | 2017-11-17 07:27:12 | ACPI Enter | S3 285 | 2017-11-17 07:28:50 | System boot | 59 286 | 2017-11-17 07:28:50 | EC Event | Panic Reset in previous boot 287 | 2017-11-17 07:28:50 | Power Fail 288 | 2017-11-17 07:28:50 | System Reset 289 | 2017-11-17 07:28:50 | ACPI Wake | Deep S5 290 | 2017-11-17 07:28:50 | Wake Source | Power Button | 0 291 | 2017-11-17 07:29:01 | Kernel Event | Clean Shutdown 292 | 2017-11-17 07:29:01 | ACPI Enter | S5 293 | 2017-11-17 08:39:03 | System boot | 60 294 | 2017-11-17 08:39:03 | EC Event | Lid Open 295 | 2017-11-17 08:39:03 | ACPI Wake | Deep S5 296 | 2017-11-17 08:39:03 | Wake Source | Power Button | 0 The crash report is at http://crash/d6cb735fdc3bce0a, and I filed a feedback report that hasn't appeared yet.

Tracking this from dogfood reports here: https://b.corp.google.com/issues/67865186 Unfortunately we don't get more info than this event entry because there is only a few bytes that get preserved, so all I know so far is it is a watchdog reset. I have been trying to reproduce it with debug enabled but it is elusive..
