Hovering over Gmail address doesn't bring up contact card

Chrome Version: 64.0.3268.0 (Official Build) canary (64-bit)
OS: macOS 10.12.6

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Open a thread in Gmail
(2) Hover over any sender's name in the thread

What is the expected result?

Expect a contact card to appear containing the email address.


What happens instead?

No contact card appears.

The last time this happened I think was  Issue 673975  but this time it looks like breakage in Chrome. The same @google.com account loaded in Chrome Stable works.

Guessing that there was a recent change in the Blink scheduler. I haven't bisected this yet.

"Unable to reproduce the issue on the reported chrome version 64.0.3268.0 using Mac 10.12.6. With the below mentioned steps.
1.Opened chrome
2.Navigated to www.gmail.com
3.Opened a thread in Gmail
4.Hovered over sender's name in the thread 
We observed the contact card being displayed correctly. Attaching the screen cast of the same.

@Reporter: Could you please check the screen cast and let us know if we have missed any steps in reproducing the issue.

I realized based on your feedback that this is probably a regression in a more recent build of Gmail than's been pushed to the public. Filed internal bug ID 69381786 against Gmail.
