Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; ldg-vk) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/58.0.3029.110 Safari/537.36 Edge/16.16299 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Scroll with two finger scrolling gesture on the trackpad What is the expected behavior? The window should scroll without affecting the selected line of text. What went wrong? You can see the selected line moving. If scrolling up, the window scrolls when the line reaches the top. It does the same for scrolling down - the active/selected line moves down, reaches the bottom edge end then the window scrolls. Did this work before? N/A Chrome version: 62.0.3202.89 Channel: stable OS Version: 10.0 Flash Version: Touchpad: ELAN Smart-Pad, Driver Version: 11.4.92.1_X64_WHQL Normal Logitech mouse works as expected. This was reported as a bug to the Visual Studio Core team who then forwarded us to you https://github.com/Microsoft/vscode/issues/38085#issuecomment-343889482 https://github.com/Microsoft/vscode/issues/17476 https://github.com/Microsoft/vscode/issues/34677

I will check and get back to you. I am very far from the thought that the problem is with ALL touchpads, that is why I gave mine (the laptop is Lenovo Y700). If you could: a) get your hands on one and test and see if the driver is at fault b) tell me how can I provide more info or check for myself I would be very happy to assist.

Hi guys, I tested with another user - same result. I checked for a new driver for my touchpad, it is the latest version, and it was very recently released: https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/si/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/ideapad-y-series-laptops/y700-touch-15isk/80nw/downloads?linkTrack=Caps%3ABody_SearchProduct&searchType=4&keyWordSearch=Y700%2520Touch-15ISK%2520Laptop%2520%2528ideapad%2529%2520-%2520Type%252080NW I will try and find an older version and try with it. What bugs me is that I tested the Monaco editor (the one used in VS Code) in Chrome and it didn't exhibit the same behavior. That is why I am offering to do debugging for you on my machine, I just need instructions on what to look for. I have some experience in desktop/COM development.

As per comment #3, the issue need to be tested in Lenovo Y700 touchpad laptop and the device is not available with TE-hyd team. Hence, adding label TE-Hardware-Dependency. Also adding label TE-NeedsTriageFromMTV, and requesting someone from MTV team to please have a look into the issue if that particular device is available there. Thanks...!!

Maybe you need just the ELAN touchpad, not the whole laptop. I think its not just in my laptop, maybe their driver is the same for all models.

Same issue with Lenovo Y520, any fix? :(

Also happens on Lenovo Yoga 710. The issue appears to be with how the ELAN drivers are passing commands to chromium. This affects apps that run on Electron (Slack and VS Code for me), but not Chrome as a browser which I assumed would also have the same issues from Chromium.

I'm also encountering this on an HP EliteBook in VS Code.
