Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/62.0.3202.89 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: (On my system, with ~150 custom search engines, youtube.com with short handle "yt" beingt the second-to-last one) 1. Open chrome://settings/searchEngines 2. Ctrl-F, Enter yt 3. Note 0/0 found 4. Scroll down half-way 5. F3 6. Note that still nothing found (0/0 hits). 7. Scroll down all the way 8. F3 9. Note that "yt" is actually found (1/1 hits). What is the expected behavior? What went wrong? Well, alread after step 2, "yt" should be found. Did this work before? N/A Chrome version: 62.0.3202.89 Channel: stable OS Version: 10.0 Flash Version:

Thanks, very interesting. Would there be a way for Chrome settings pages to capture Ctrl-F and use that dedicated search field instead of Chrome's native one? This would prevent this seemingly common misunderstanding of this "feature" as a bug.

I have filed the more general Issue 784164 .

"Unable to reproduce the issue on the reported chrome version stable 62.0.3202.89 and on the latest stable 62.0.3202.94, adding appropriate component for further triaging. Thanks!"

I guess since I added 9-step repro instructions, if necessary, someone will get back to me with information about which step failed to reproduce.

Able to reproduce the issue on Mac 10.12.6, Win-10 and Ubuntu 14.04 using chrome reported version #62.0.3202.89 and latest canary #64.0.3270.0. This is a non-regression issue as it is observed from M59 old builds from the time md-settings was implemented. Hence, marking it as untriaged to get more inputs from dev team. Thanks...!!
