Middle mouse button on links open multiple equal tabs

Reported by djbrain...@gmail.com, Nov 8 2017

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/61.0.3163.100 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
On normal <a> tags use middle mouse button to open this link in a new tab. Should open one tab and keep focus on current.

For me this always happens here, even after a fresh browser restart.

Link at "Report bugs at https://crbug.com/wizard"

This behaviour is not constant on different webpages.

What is the expected behavior?
One tab should open and current tab keep focused.

What went wrong?
Multiple tabs are being opened. Most of the time only 2 but i had sometimes also 3 or 4.

Did this work before? Yes I think this happen since a 1-2 montsh or so.

Chrome version: 61.0.3163.100 Channel: stable

I also have tested it with a fresh "Guest" profile. Constantly opens multiple tabs. Doesn't matter which URL here on the left navigation. http://dev.chromium.org/for-testers/bug-reporting-guideline

Sorry for the late answer. Here we go. Here is a screencast with the procedure i do.
It's a fresh "Guest profile". As you can see, it doesn't happen always, just 8/10.

Ok i've tested further. And, surprisingly, my mouse is the problem here. It does a double/trippw/quad click with the middle mouse button in certain conditions.

Sorry for this, here is the debug i've done to detect the problem.
As you can see, 3 events are fired during one physical mousedown.
Changed the hardware and it disappeared :)

Could be closed.
