Able to reproduce this issue on reported version 64.0.3256.0 but issue is fixed on latest dev 64.0.3282.24 and on latest canary 65.0.3293.0 using Windows 10 and Ubuntu 14.04. Find favicon is not seen in Mac. 

Opened 2-3 tabs >> Opened Find[ctrl+f] in one page and closed opened tab and observed find icon on all other opened tabs.

This has been fixed. That's what c#4 indicates. Did I miss something?

Re #5 I think the overarching question was "Is this bug a dupe of 782839." I'm satisfied that it is.
