Ubuntu 17.10 Google Chrome -> Jitsi -> callto issue with ///

Reported by it.total...@gmail.com, Nov 1 2017

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/62.0.3202.75 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
The setup is next:
Browser Google Chrome(latest) + mimelist (callto=jitsi.desktop)

1) Ubuntu 17.04 + Jitsi Stable = Callto link works fine.

2) Ubuntu 17.10 + Old /home drive from 17.04 = Jitsi still works.

3) Ubuntu 17.10 Fresh install + Jitsi = works on manual copy paste of numbers, but when click on callto links it gives weird result calling a number with /// slashes in front of it.

i.e. instead of +373 333 333 333 it goes ///+373 333 333 333 with a fail

Also discovered that when clicking on callto via Firefox with uri handlers ON, its working fine.

For now I have tried to replace from another 17.04 .jitsi folder to 17.10 in /home but with no success.
then .google-chrome from .config, then few more that my intuition said could help but nothing in the end.

P.S. From github owners of Jitsi asked that if version of chrome is the same because they said one old version of chrome on windows had similar issue. And yes, latest version on all both.

What is the expected behavior?
On click callto: to call number without slashes

What went wrong?
On click callto: links calls numbers with /// slashes in front of number

Did this work before? N/A

Chrome version: 62.0.3202.75 Channel: stable
OS Version: Ubuntu 17.10

it.totaltoner@ - Thanks for filing the issue...!!

Could you please provide more details of the jitsi extension which is causing the issue. Also please provide detailed consistent repro steps to test the issue from TE-end.

Thanks...!!
Hello, setup of jitsi is next:
1) Install latest Ubuntu 17.10
2) Install chrome (download .deb package)
3) Install jitsi .deb or via terminal http://jitsi.org/downloads/
4) Add in ~/.local/shared/applications/mimeapps.list next line:
    x-scheme-handler/callto=jitsi.desktop
5) Setup Jitsi with any SIP account
6) Click on callto: phone number link
Expected: to call linked number after callto: i.e. 373 373 37 373
Behave: add /// in front of called number i.e. ///373 373 37 373

There is not any extension for Chrome, just x-scheme-handler.
Via Firefox calls work well via protocol-handler, without any slashes.

Components: -Blink>WebRTC
Removing Blink>WebRTC since this doesn't seem to be a WebRTC issue.
And what does that mean? Will it help solve the problem?
