Rendering issues on NVIDIA GPU and High Sierra

Reported by christop...@gmail.com, Oct 28 2017

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_13_0) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/61.0.3163.100 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
Artefacts and rendering issues in Chromium (Crome, Electron…) as well as possibly related system freezes/crashes requiring a hard reset. Several issues including black screens and sluggishness with a Thunderbolt Display connected (Display Port). Have not tested disabling GPU rasterisation, but have tested both the latest OS X drivers and the latest from NVIDIA with no luck:

CUDA 9.0.214 (http://www.nvidia.com/object/macosx-cuda-9.0.214-driver.html) and NVIDIA Web Driver for macOS 10.13.0 (17A405) 378.10.10.10.15.121 (https://images.nvidia.com/mac/pkg/378/WebDriver-378.10.10.10.15.121.pkg)

NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1 GB
Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB

What is the expected behavior?
