Issue descriptionSteps to reproduce the problem: 1. Share any apk(only apk) download link to your friend through whatsapp or any other messaging app. 2. open at least one tab like youtube.com on chrome or even its google page 3. Now click on that link you shared with your friends in whatsapp(or any other messaging app) Note: Link must be clicked from inside the messaging app don't copy and paste the link on chrome address bar manually 4. Link will open the chrome if it is default browser in android and you see after opening new tab will crashes immediately and your file will not download at all. What is the expected behavior? What went wrong? A tab crashes while downloading apk file from shared url in any messaging app. Note: Its happening only with apk extensions Crashed report ID: How much crashed? Just one tab Is it a problem with a plugin? N/A Did this work before? N/A Chrome version: 61.0.3163.98 Channel: n/a OS Version: 7.0.0 Flash Version:

This doesn't look like a crash. It looks like we're closing the tab after deciding it's a download. Was the APK that showed up in your downloads home the right one? I am surprised there was no notification about the download in particular though. Are download notifications disabled? Will try to reproduce locally. jming@ can you ptal?

@Dtrainor, No that APK in my download list was not the right one. I showed there that there is no apk in my download list after clicking the link and not even any notification regarding downloading the apk. And I did not disable the download notification. Not only me facing the same problem but many of my friends and on different phones. Thanks

Min can you take a look? The download might be getting queued behind some blocker and we rely on an infobar to unblock (which goes away if the tab is closed?). |
