for brillo, we worked on things like wifi clients bootstrapping themselves from no credentials (which turned into the libweave/libiota projects). on the CrOS side though, we only ended up using buffet on jetstream for its cloud communication. work on peerd/wifi_bootstrapping pretty much stopped.
we're still enabling both of these features on our generic boards though to maintain build/test coverage. but if no one cares about these things, it's a waste of time. and apparently the wifi_bootstrapping feature breaks some users:
