Issue descriptionChrome Version: 63.0.3239.18 (Official Build)975787a36cf8dbe16eaf42134aaee20fe9504ba2-refs/branch-heads/3239@{#188} 32/64-bit. OS: Win(7,8,10), Mac(10.12.6, 10.13.1) and Linux(14.04 LTS). What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Launch Chrome and login to www.gmail.com with valid credentials. 2. Save the password and then navigate to chrome://settings/passwords. 3. Now hover the mouse pointer on username and observe. Tooltip does not displayed for saved username. Tooltip should display for saved username. This is a non-regression issue, seen from M-58 series. Kindly review the attached screen-cast for reference.

Can you explain why you expect a username tooltip on hover?

With response to comment #3: For Ex: For long username tooltip should be displayed. Actually tooltip was displaying for username on older Settings page as shown in Expected behavior video but it is not displaying on current Settings UI.

I also agree that tooltips would be useful here. We already have tooltips for websites. Should we also add them to unmasked passwords? They can be wider than the available space, too.

+bettes Should probably check with UX before re-adding tooltips. The fact that they existed in previous UI is not a good enough reason on its own. |
