Issue descriptionIn Chrome 62 we started to send pointercancel on drag to fix issue 720201. Edge does not send this event and it caused at least one site to do unexpected side effects. Issue 776799. Reproduction URI: https://codepen.io/appsforartists/pen/NjybQX?editors=1011 Note Edge has no pointercancel. Chrome 62 has a pointercancel

Rick, what do we want to have for this bug for 63 as you marked it as blocker? The only occurrence we saw so far was in a library called Sortable and they seem to be fixing it: https://github.com/RubaXa/Sortable/issues/1199

So far we saw only one js library (i.e. Sortable.js) https://github.com/RubaXa/Sortable/issues/1199 which faced an issue. The problem only happens in the older version of that library which had a bug for not handling the events correctly. They fixed their issue about 5 months ago https://github.com/RubaXa/Sortable/issues/1071 and anyone who is using the newer version of that library should not see any problem.

Ah fascinating. If we're not getting any other reports, then yeah I don't think it's particularly important either way (would just like to maximize the chance for interop). I'm fine with calling this by-design for now.

This is done by design. Feel free to report anything else that you see broken here or in a new bug. |
