Issue with dual head nvidia as in-house team not having the dual nvidia, hence adding the respective label for it to triage further.

Thank You!

To get a bit more info: does dual-head NVidia mean that there are two monitors attached to a single GPU? Or two GPUs on the system with simultaneous output?

Also, would someone experiencing the issue be able to capture a screenshot and/or provide the contents of "about:gpu" (navigate to about:gpu, save as website, complete).

Thanks!

yes NVIDIA Corporation GK208 [GeForce GT 730] with two monitors attached one via vga, one via dvi - both dell 2007FPb 20" - screen shot is cropped from gmail - I'll get another if it occurs on a less sensitive web page.

danakj@, could this be a misplaced tooltip drop shadow on a dual monitor display or something? (or just a tooltip failing to render its contents)?
Labels: Needs-Feedback
Can you reproduce it by hovering over something that would make a tooltip (often an image for example)? Do tooltips work ever for web content?

When you scroll the page after this box appears what happens?

Comment 9 by jsh...@gmail.com, Nov 7 2017

it is the same size/shape as a tool tip but does not have a black background like if I hover over a image. it's locked to the desktop location and always in front despite scrolling or moving chrome or other windows.

I should also state that I'm using E19.

Do you have an idea how to make the boxes appear? Do they appear where a tooltip was/should have been sometimes? It sounds like tooltips do work for you at least most of the time?

It would be helpful to know if you can reproduce this with a different window manager (maybe one that isn't also a compositing manager).

Comment 13 by jsh...@gmail.com, Nov 7 2017

occurs 5-10 times per week, unable to cause it. tool tips seem normal. will try other window managers.

So far this bug hasn't happened with gnome - I'll try enlightenment 21 - and cross post a bug with them if ongoing.

I upgraded to e 22 and the problem went away - there is a bug with the bug tool - It rejected my benign post twice as violations of code of conduct.
