Other browsers tested:
Add OK or FAIL after other browsers where you have tested this issue:
Safari 5:
Firefox 4.x:
IE 7/8/9:
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Set the chrome as the default app to open PDF files.
2. Set the chrome browser to dowload the PDF files automatically instead of open it on chrome. (Path: chrome://settings/content/pdfDocuments)
3. Set the Download folder to the Desktop for example.
4. Try to open a PDF file from the same folder defined at step 2.
What is the expected result?
I believe that the chrome should download de file again and stop the processing.
What happens instead of that?
The chrome browser start to download the file in loop, using almost all the processor capacity and not allowing to use the chrome anymore.
Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if possible.

Unable to reproduce the issue on the reported chrome version 62.0.3202.62 and on the latest canary 64.0.3248.0 using Windows 10, Ububtu 14.04 and Mac 10.12.6 with the below mentioned steps. 1. We have set the chrome as the default app to open PDF files. 2. changed the settings so that chrome browser dowloads the PDF files automatically instead of opening it on chrome. 3. Tried opening the file which is already downloaded, present on desktop. We observed a single time download of the file on a double click, without having been looping the process of downloading. Attaching the screencast of the same. @Reporter: Could you please try the same by removing the unwanted extensions and by creating a fresh profile. Thanks!

The problem was not reproduced with a fresh user at the chrome. Not sure what can be causing it.

Thanks for the update.. @rogerolvr-- As per your comment#3 , issue is not related to chrome and it seems to have caused due to extensions and hence closing this issue. Please feel free to raise a new issue if any issues in latest chrome channels. Thanks! |
