Issue description
Chrome Version : Version 62.0.3202.62 (Offizieller Build) (64-Bit)

Other browsers tested:
Add OK or FAIL after other browsers where you have tested this issue:
Safari: PASS/FAIL (Version) ok
Firefox: PASS/FAIL (Version) ok
IE: PASS/FAIL (Version) ok
What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) chrome. open new tab (from add button or Ctrl +N) No input in the address bar.
(2) Type in something in the address field.
(3) Select and copy the selection.
(4) go to Google search field
(5) paste content clipboard (Ctrl+V or click right / paste).
What is the expected result?
Selected text is placed in the search field.
What happens instead?
The selected string is placed again int he address field.

Able to reproduce this issue on reported version 62.0.3202.62, on latest canary 64.0.3248.0 using Windows 10,Ubuntu 14.04 and Mac 10.12.6. Issue is seen from M50. Hence considering this issue as Non-regression and marking as Untriaged

This is working as intended: The search box on the New Tab page just forwards to the Omnibox (that's what we call the "address field"). If you click the search box on the New Tab page and start typing something, then that also goes into the Omnibox. Pasting works just the same way. |
