captureVisibleTab works unstable with png format

Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/63.0.3239.9 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Load unpacked extension from zip 2. Open background dev tools at console tab 3. Switch some tabs with different links 4. It will take good screenshots for some links and broken for others. i.e. https://www.pinterest.com/ http://www.lostfilm.tv/ https://www.tunefind.com/ and at pages on Google Mail when applied some filters/labels https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/?… What is the expected behavior? It takes screenshots stable for all pages What went wrong? Unstable behavior for different links WebStore page: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/sexy-new-tab/kmnjpgchjnhlenhhcemajkihfeoampom Did this work before? Yes Just yesterday Chrome version: 63.0.3239.9 Channel: dev OS Version: 6.1 (Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2) Flash Version: However it works fine for jpeg format

Able to reproduce the issue on reported version 63.0.3239.9, Latest Stable 62.0.3202.62 and latest Canary 64.0.3248.2 using Win 7 and Win 10. @ enazarev: Broken link is seen, when we take a screen shot of any page(eg, facebook, ebay, bookmyshow). Please confirm if you are facing the same issue and let us know if we have missed any steps in reproducing the issue from TE-end Attached screencast for your perusal.

Hello Divya Thanks for your response. Ehm. Maybe I just describe steps not clear. In your screencast you didn't reproduce it properly. I've attach my screen cast to this comment. So you can see how to check Let me explain. That WebStore page link is my full version extension. And unpacked extension is just simplified to show only this bug. It just logs to console if screen was good or bad. It quite simple. You just have to note even if img throw an exception thumb has length (and well formatted if you print it). That means something wrong with image itself.

Unable to reproduce this issue on reported version 63.0.3239.9, Latest Stable 62.0.3202.62 and latest Canary 64.0.3248.2 using Win 7 and Win 10 by following the steps provided in screencast @Reporter : Could you please re-try the scenario by creating a new profile Please follow below steps to create a New profile (i). Launch chrome>>go to Settings. (ii).Under the section headed People, Click on link Manage other people>>Add person Please find the screencast attached. If the issue still persist please provide your observation for further triaging the issue.

Yep, I could reproduce this bug. And this time it appeared only for https://www.tunefind.com/ and https://www.google.com/gmail/about/# Also I have dev version Google Chrome 63.0.3239.9 (Official Build) dev (64-bit) (cohort: Dev) Revision 4e280fc118ef968a7faaf87ddfd1f4c3cd6fa3bb-refs/branch-heads/3239@{#38}

Well… Just now Chrome updated to 63.0.3239.18 and problem not appeared so far.
