File picker doesn't work if a Chrome app is open |

Issue descriptionChrome Version : 61.0.3163.100 OS: Linux What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Have a chrome app open for any Chrome profile 2. Try to use a file picker (say on crbug.com/new "Attach a file") 3. File picker seems like it works, but when confirming the file choice, no file is attached to the web content. What is the expected result? File is attached What happens instead of that? File is not attached. Quitting the Hangouts app makes the thing work. Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if possible. UserAgentString: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/61.0.3163.100 Safari/537.36

With the hangouts app open elsewhere, the file picker in Chrome doesn't work properly on crbug.com. I can pick a file but it doesn't get attached. If I close Hangouts, it works. I made very crude screenshots to try to illustrate the problem.

I cannot reproduce the issue with Version 62.0.3202.62 (Official Build) (64-bit), and with Google Hnagouts app open on Linux. Tried to attach a file on crbug.com/777241 - which seems working fine. mathp@, do you see this only on crbug.com? Or does the same symptom happens for any other sites (e.g. Gmail, non-Google sites)?

Any site that asks to attach a file... It's odd that I'm the only one hitting this! Do you have the app open similar to my screenshot?

Yes I am still seeing the issue. Additionally, the issue only arises if I click "Open" in the file picker, but doesn't happen if I double-click on a file in the file picker.

Unable to reproduce the issue on Ubuntu 14.04 using chrome stable #62.0.3202.75 and latest dev #64.0.3253.3 Following are the steps followed to reproduce the issue. ------------ 1. Added chrome hangouts app open for a Chrome profile. 2. Opened gmail.com and attached a file by clicking "open" in the file picker. 3. Observed that file is getting attached as expected. mathp@ - Could you please check the screen shot and please let us know if anything missed from our side. Also please check the issue on latest dev #64.0.3253.3 by creating a new profile and please let us know if the issue still persist or not. Thanks...!!
