What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) visit google.com with devtools open
(2) observe the network tab entry for the html document 
(3) , whereas 

What is the expected result?

the transfer size is reported as 58.85KB, as in Firefox. (see attached)

What happens instead?

notice that transfer size is reported incorrectly as 232KB (see attached) This bug filters down to tools like lighthouse.
