What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) After High Sierra update, user reports Chrome freezing and crashing
(2) Other users have reported similar issues as well: https://goo.gl/GiaYB

What is the expected result?
Chrome to operate smoothly on Mac

To elaborate on #c2, please navigate to chrome://crashes and copy and paste us the relevant crash ID here. If Chrome is crashing before you can do that, try the following: In Finder, use View>Go to folder, and paste this in (without quotes): “~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports” and find the Chrome crash report. Please attach the whole file to this bug report. Any other information you can remember about what you were doing before the crash would be helpful too (as per #c1).
