Ellipsis text overflow rendering issue: not all child text nodes are painted

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/61.0.3163.100 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Open the attached file.
2. Hover the the text.
3. 

What is the expected behavior?
4 text nodes should be visible.

What went wrong?
Only 2 of 4 text nodes are visible.

Did this work before? N/A 

Does this work in other browsers? Yes

Chrome version: 61.0.3163.100  Channel: stable
OS Version: 
Flash Version: 

Disabling "text-overflow" or "white-space" CSS rule doesn't result in all 4 nodes painting too, though ellipsis is no longer visible, until you reload the page with those styles turned off.
