Issue descriptionSteps to reproduce the problem: 1. Open the Chrome browser on your android 4.4+ handset and click the Menu button on your phone. 2. Tap Settings. 3. Scroll down to the Privacy settings section and tap the Clear browsing data option. 4. Select Advanced Tab and set the time range to All time from the drop down menu. Further tick all the checkbox on that page. 5. Tap the Clear Data option. Tap Ok, if prompted. What is the expected behavior? It should have cleared all the cookies and site data from the browser. What went wrong? It gets back to the Privacy settings page, and when I re-tap on Clear Browsing data > Advanced tab> I can see the number of uncleared cookies left on my phone. ~ PS: The above steps has been tested on Kitkat, Marshmallow and Nougat handsets. Did this work before? N/A Chrome version: 61.0.3163.98 Channel: stable OS Version: 7.0 Flash Version:

@sandeepkumars: I replicated the " issue 765011 " on Windows 10, Chrome version: 61.0.3163.100 and all the cookies on my system was completely cleared. On Android, this issue has been present since last 2-3 versions. In the report of Issue 765011 , the reportee mentioned the bug occur 'sometimes'. While on Android, it always fails to clear all the cookies from the handset.

Thanks for reporting the issue. This is probably related to https://crbug.com/769425 and should be solved in Chrome 63. The data is deleted but some empty entries remain until restart. Could you try Chrome Canary and see if you still have this issue? If the issue remains, please reopen.

The issue is still present in latest update of Chrome Android version. Is there a fix for the same? Also is there a way to make Chrome android start in incognito mode by default?

Please check in Settings > About Chrome, if you are using Chrome 63. Chrome stable is still at 62 which doesn't include the fixes. Only Chrome Beta and Chrome Canary are at 63 yet. |
