pages keep going either black or white. videos flicker like a bad tv signal

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_13_0) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/61.0.3163.100 Safari/537.36

1. anytime I open a google sheet or doc
2. anytime I try to preview a file

it should not do this

Did this work before? Yes before I downloaded high sierra

Does this work in other browsers? N/A

acf@, thank you for the report. Are you seeing this issue consistently? If so please attach "chrome://gpu" details.
Hi,

I get the same issues. Also with Electron apps that use Chromium in their webapp like Slack, Trello, etc.

I can use the apps and Chrome browser for a while, and suddently it starts flashing/flickering. A restart of the apps sovles the issue for some minutes until it starts again.

I can provide logs when it occurs, just let me know what you need :)

I have the same problem on multiple sites, including Google Docs sites not displaying correctly only in the latest version of Chrome on High Sierra

As a followup:  Disabling hardware acceleration does allow the pages to load.

I believe this is the same issue as  bug 773705 , please add details there.

If you are experiencing this issue and can hit it reliably, please let me know the steps to reproduce. I have the same hardware and am having trouble hitting this. A few questions:

How long does this issue typically take to show up?
Are you using an external monitor when you see the issue?
