Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/61.0.3163.100 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Have a long datalist. 2. Have it more than halfway down the screen. 3. Click it. What is the expected behavior? A vertically shorter datalist with a scrollbar. What went wrong? The datalist renders too tall to fit on the screen. Did this work before? N/A Chrome version: 61.0.3163.100 Channel: stable OS Version: 14.04 Flash Version:

Unable to reproduce the issue on reported version 61.0.3163.100 and latest canary 63.0.3236.0 using Ubuntu 14.04 with attached file(datalist.html). Could you please share the sample test file or sample URL for further triaging the issue from TE End Thanks for filing the issue...!!

Regarding comment 2, this is definitely very badly implemented or broken (in Chromium 64.0.3282.167): - The datalist is often positioned badly (i.e. in a direction that takes it offscreen, badly truncating it, when there was plenty of space onscreen) - When the datalist is truncated by the screen, the scrollbars often disappear completely. - When the datalist appears above the input, it is not scrollable at all - even with a mouse scroll button. See a couple of examples.

As mentioned in crbug.com/838361 , this is fixed in 69.0.3484.0 by a CL that was landed this Friday. Please make sure you enable the new UI (by enabling flags #top-chrome-md = refresh, #secondary-ui-md = enabled and #enable-autofill-native-dropdown-views = enabled) to see the fix. |
