link <a rel=noopener target=_blank> links don't open in chrome headless mode

Issue descriptionChrome Version : 61.0.3163.100 What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) Create a html page with <a id='link' rel='noopener' href='http://google.com' target='_blank'>google</a> (2) Use chrome driver + chrome headless to navigate to the page and click on the link (3) Observer that the number of driver.window_handles remain the same before and after clicking (4) Remove the rel=opener attribute (5) Repeat and observer that driver.window_handles increase after clicking (1 -> 2) What is the expected result? driver.window_handles increase after clicking (1 -> 2) What happens instead? driver.window_handles remains unchanged

Hey, yea sorry for the delay here. it works as expected on non-headless chrome (we encountered this issue when upgrading to using headless chrome to run our webdriver backed tests).

I was unable to repro this issue. I ran the attached Python script using ChromeDriver 2.40 and Chrome 67.0.3396.87, and the number of window handles increased from 1 to 2 after clicking on the link. It is possible that this issue has been fixed over the few months from the time this issue was opened. If you are still experiencing this issue using the latest Chrome and ChromeDriver, please let us know. |
