Chrome Canary icon vanished from my tray on android

Issue description

Chrome Version       : 63.0.3232.0
OS Version: Android
URLs (if applicable) : n/a
Other browsers tested:
  Add OK or FAIL after other browsers where you have tested this issue:
     Safari 5:
  Firefox 4.x:
     IE 7/8/9:

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Update chrome canary on Play Store to 63.0.3232.0
2.
3.

What is the expected result?

Icon stays on android launcher


What happens instead of that?

Icon vanished. On two devices. One running Android 8.0.0; Pixel XL Build/OPR1.170623.027 and the other running Android 7.1.1;Pixel Build/NOF26V

One phone is Play store 8.2.38.T-all
The other is Play Store 8.3.41.U-all

Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.

Unable to reproduce the issue in Android. Observed the Chrome Canary on home screen.

Steps Followed
1. Navigated to PlayStore
2. Updated Chrome from 63.0.3231.0 to 63.0.3232.0
3. Observed the Chrome Canary on home screen

Chrome versions tested:
63.0.3232.0

OS
Android 7.1.2, 8.0.0

Android Devices
7.1.2 Pixel XL Build/N2G48E,, 8.0.0 Pixel Build/OPR1 170623.027.

@wfh: Could you please find the above observations and let us know the update.

well it happened on both of my devices, running different versions of Play Store and Android, so it seems like it should be reproducible... I haven't tried a manual update though.
