Issue descriptionChrome Version:63.0.3230.0/9997.0.0 dev channel Daisy,Minnie OS:Chrome OS What steps will reproduce the problem? (1)Sign into user ->Launch chrome,open chrome://settings/changePicture and click to take photo in video mode and Observe(Kindly refer video) Actual:Weird flickering is seen Expected:Instead, no flickering should be seen Raising it as Non-Regression issue since the feature is newly implemented in M-63 @Stevenjb: please confirm the issue.

This is WAI. That flashing animation was created to give an indication for the start and end of video capture. Not sure that it's the best visual cue but it seemed better than having nothing. Re-assigning to UX for feedback.

+ mcirimele I think for now it helps to indicate the camera is taking multiple shots for the video. If not we can also try to have the video recording button flashes instead of the preview window to communicate that.

I agree that it helps indicate that it's taking multiple shots. We could try decreasing the opacity of the flash slightly to make it feel less flicker-y? Other tricks we could try is some progress indicator (boomerang has it on the record button) or using the record button itself like Elizabeth suggested. Apart from that let's leave as is for now. Will close this bug, let's see if it comes up again. |
