Samus: HP Elite USB-C Docking Station initializes for about 45 seconds |
||||||
Issue descriptionChrome Version: 62.0.3188.0 ChromeOS Version: 9852.0.0 (samus) What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) connect 2 displays to HP Elite USB-C Docking station (dock) (2) Connect dock to a chromebook What is the expected result? Chromebook should detect all dock devices, including two displays and embedded sound adapter within few seconds What happens instead? Initialization time is about 45 seconds. Probably, most users treat it as "doesn't work". Attached log file of initialization process.

The time is all spent in the USB/detection, it isn't a problem with graphics. Sameer, can you please route to the appropriate person?

Indeed the USB2.0 hub inside the dock, disconnects, then refuses to answer packets for 40s, then disconnects again, then answers normally. Todd, If you have the dock hardware, let's do a trace together next week.

I do have one. Tried briefly yesterday on samus + 9852 image and device never successfully finalized USBPD power contract nor did it drive single screen (U28D590 via hdmi). I'll capture some logs today if I get a chance.

My recent testing w/ eve MP & samus (phase:?) connected to HP Elite USB-C docking station w/ 1. HP keyboard 2. logitech mouse 3. HP z24i in DP port 4. LG 27UD88 in HDMI port Eve: running R70 drove both screens after ~5sec Samus: running R72 drove both screens after ~15sec Closing since things appear to work well now. Please re-open if you're still seeing failure. |
