broken formatting of JSON in Network tab -> preview

Reported by wojinwom...@gmail.com, Oct 2 2017

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/60.0.3112.78 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. have latest version of chrome
2. open developer tools and click on Network tab
3. make some request to the server which returns valid JSON format
4. look into preview tab

What is the expected behavior?
If server returns JSON, chrome should format it into human-readable text. (it was in all previous versions)

What went wrong?
Instead of formatted text, there is plain JSON text. (same as in response tab) I am adding 2 attachments, one with the wrong behavior (preview.png) and one with the right behavior (preview-old.png)

Did this work before? Yes 60.0.3112.78

Chrome version: 61.0.3163 Channel: n/a
OS Version: 10.0
Flash Version: 27.0.0.130

This bug appears in the latest update of Chrome (2.10.2017 was Chrome updated on my computer). Problem solved by installing back older version of Chrome 60.x.x

Looks like a duplicate of issue 763921 , fixed in Chrome 62.
wow, am I so blind that I didn't find that issue earlier? I have spend to much time looking for this issue.

It seems you are right. Bug should be propably fixed: https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromium/src.git/+/2a04495525d82b290a619c4abd62067e9fa79bad

BUT, I just tried to download Chrome dev (version 62.0.3202.38) and the bug is still there.

Commit 2a044955... initially landed in 63.0.3227.0.
So I was wrong, and we'll have to wait for two months before the fix is in the stable channel. Meanwhile, Chrome Canary can be used separately from the main browser profile.
Yes, I can confirm that Canary successfully fixed the bug. But more comes with new features. Well, new topics will be opened soon propably.

Thank you for your time
