Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:55.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/55.0 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Go to this page. 2. Attempt to see any drop down list. 3. List is empty - not blank, not invisible white on white What is the expected behavior? drop down list should be populated What went wrong? drop down lists are empty all over the internet makes it impossible to go shopping and simply order the list of results, for example (need to use firefox) Did this work before? Yes don't know Chrome version: 61.0.3163.100 Channel: stable OS Version: 17.3 Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 26.0 r0 I've waited a while before reporting this, at least a month. Was hoping for a fix. Trying in incognito mode does not fix problem. Trying with just one window and tab doesn't work. Turning hardware acceleration off or on doesn't work. Firefox works and I had to fill in this page with firefox.

stephen@ Thanks for the report! could you please provide any sample URL or test case of the file to check this issue from chrome-TE end? Thanks!

I did already! See 'steps to reproduce the problem'. I'm talking about the page I was on when I was reporting the bug. On this site. It has some drop down lists. Or you could try ordering the results in a shopping site like Ocado, say at https://www.ocado.com/webshop/getSearchProducts.do?clearTabs=yes&isFreshSearch=true&chosenSuggestionPosition=&entry=butter Where it says 'refine by' and then 'favourites first', try refining by something else by clicking the arrow in favourites first. That list is populated normally in firefox but completely empty in chrome.

I used the suggestions in c#3 and can't reproduce this. The "favourites first" pull down is populated with entries like "low to high", "high to low" and so on. Tested with Chrome 61.0.3163.100 on Linux. Chrome 62 beta works too (but has a huge empty area above the pictures of the items. But that's a different issue.) Can you suggest other sites where this might show up? Can you try Beta or Canary?

It shows up on practically every site on the internet. As you can't reproduce it, perhaps it is due to some setting on my system, but I can't guess what that setting could be. Did you try it with linux mint itself, with cinnamon? I was wondering if it could be caused by the desktop environment somehow.

Hmm. I'm running Ubuntu (roughly) with cinnamon. I haven't noticed this issue anywhere. But I don't do a lot of random surfing from this linux machine. I could try with Linux mint, but it will take some time to set that up. Could you try with Beta or Canary? Just to see if things change. Canary should at least start up with an empty profile (if you've never used Canary before).

I'm really sorry, I can't. I'm not especially technical - I have a really strong tech background but left it behind many years ago, so now I know as much Penny in Big Bang. And I really need the computer for work, so if I mess too much and screw it up, I'm sunk. I'll wait for your smartness to try with mint - don't put 18 in, though. Just 17.3 with all current updates. Again, sorry about that. Thanks for the help, by the way. Really appreciate it.

Tested the issue on ubuntu 14.04 using chrome M61 #61.0.3163.100 and M63 #63.0.3232.0 and issue is not reproduced. dropdown contents are accessible and visible in the given link in comment #3. Attached screencast for reference. @MTVTeam-- Could someone from mtv team look into this , as inhouse team doesn't have the linux mint flavor . Thanks!

Download chrome beta: https://www.google.com/chrome/browser/beta.html In any case, I installed linux mint 17.3 in a virtualbox. 17.3 won't run the downloaded chrome because nss version is too old. I'm not going to figure out how to update that. Tried linux mint 18.2 in a virtualbox. Downloaded chrome and visited the test URL. Favorites pull down works fine. I don't think there's much more I can do on this.

I have to assume that this is a graphics card or other system issue. Please paste in the output from visiting "chrome://gpu" so we can look for errors.

I pasted the chrome://gpu output into a text file and attached it.

unkle.stephen: There have been a few Chrome releases since we last looked at this and we were unable to reproduce. Do you still see the issue?
