Clicking "Learn more" on download warning cancels the download |
|||||
Issue descriptionPlatform: Chrome OS Version: 60.0.3112.114 (current stable) I haven't tried other versions yet Steps to reproduce: 1. goto http://testsafebrowsing.appspot.com/ 2. click on Desktop Download Warnings 5 (or link in that session from 2-7) 3. Uncommon warning is shown (see screenshot) 4. Click "Learn more" in the pop up download warning, Chrome help center article shows 5. open chrome://downloads, the unknown.exe download shows as canceled. What should happen: Clicking on "Learn more" should not impact the download state.

That looks like a bug. In chrome://downloads it should show a red triangle and have discard/keep buttons regardless of if you click the link. (unassigning me since I'm not likely to fix this)

Oops, I misspoke. For a dangerous download, it should show [Remove from list] and [keep dangerous download]

To clarify, before clicking on "learn more", chrome://downloads displays the correct warning message (including [Remove from list] and [keep dangerous download]). But once "learn more" is clicked, download gets canceled. I believe it is a wiring bug in the download notification UI (which is now owned by safe browsing).

Is the bug that "Learn More" dismisses the notification and we treat that as a cancel?

Re #c6: Yes, any click on the dialog dismisses the notification and cancels the download. It seems like the Download UI on ChromeOS needs to provide a way for the user to get more information about the download state/outcome.

Removing SafeBrowsing since this seems like a downloads UI issue. |
