Custom headers not passed to webpage through Chrome custom tabs

Issue description

Device name: Nexus 6
Application version: 61.0.3163.98
Operating system: 6.0.1

Steps to reproduce:
(1) Set custom headers
(2) Open url with Chrome custom tab in app

Expected result:
Custom headers are passed to the webpage through chrome custom tab


Actual result:
Custom headers aren't being passed to the webpage



 
Found out about this also when my clients Single Sign On implementation using headers stopped working. Any idea if this is a bug or that this is permanently removed? 
This is already assigned and acknowledged as an issue. Currently tracking on https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=772966
