Issue descriptionChrome Version: Chrome OS 9765.72.0, 61.0.3163.108 beta build Steps To Reproduce: 1. Duplicated entries seen in Offline and Recent root in Files app. Sometimes observed in Downloads folder too. I believe it is the shared folder that was added to My drive (from web drive) is causing this issue. Attached are the screenshots and Feedback report: https://feedback.corp.google.com/product/208/neutron?lView=rd&lRSort=1&lROrder=2&lRFilter=1&lReportSearch=duplicated&lReport=74593204323

fukino@, nya@ - Could you please take a look at what might be causing this behavior?

fukino, hashimoto: Do you know any known issues about duplicated entries? They appear in Offline too, so I guess it's not an issue specific to Recent.

This sounds like a UI issue, considering "Sometimes observed in Downloads folder too.". mkarkada@, when you see this issue in Downloads, are all files in Downloads duplicated? If you see this in the future, could you try creating a new file or folder and see if the new file/folder is duplicated?

Hi fukino, not all files in Downloads got duplicated. As per what I noticed, I tried copying a shared folder from Gdrive to Downloads (the folder that was part of 'Shared with me' folder and was added to My drive from web drive). Only this folder got duplicated.

I'm still not able to reproduce the issue...
mkarkada@, is it possible to do the following steps to help investigation?
1) Open Files app
2) Open devtool by Ctrl+Shift+J
3) On "Console" tab, copy following command.
chrome.fileManagerPrivate.getRecentFiles('any_source', function(entries) {console.log(entries.map(o => o.filesystem.name+':'+o.fullPath));});
4) Attach the output of the command on this bug. (Attach a screenshot, or attach a text file which has the output.

Hi fukino, I couldn't reproduce this issue again. But I ran the command you gave on the same user account and attaching the relevant log here.

I'm seeing duplicated entries in Cloud back up folder of Drive too.
Seeing error message like:
Unchecked runtime.lastError while running fileManagerPrivateInternal.executeTask: Unknown error.

Let's close this one for now and re-open if we see this behavior again.

The error in Comment 8 seems unrelated. In the attached log (Thanks!), I can't see any issues in entries inside Recent folder. The log does not contain any information about Cloud Backup folder, but I guess the duplicated entries in Cloud Backup folder is a separate issue. Let's reopen this once the duplicated entries reproduces in Recent folder.

I want to re-open this bug as I'm again seeing duplicated entries in Recent root of Files app. Observed on caroline device, M69 beta (10895.33.0, 69.0.3497.58). Repro videos in this link: https://pantheon.corp.google.com/storage/browser/chromiumos-test-logs/bugfiles/cr/770008/M69/

Another repro scenario for this bug: 1. Open ARC++ Gmail app and download any image file attachment 2. Open files app to see the file in Downloads folder 3. Open Recent root 4. Duplicate entry is seen (the image file is listed twice) Tested on 11021.13.0, 70.0.3538.16 dev-channel kevin

Seems "recent" folder shows the files from "images" and "downloads" folders.
