Issue descriptionChrome Version : 61.0.3163.100 OS Version: OS X 10.12.6 URLs (if applicable) : http://resca.thimpress.com, http://www.atmastel.com Other browsers tested: Add OK or FAIL after other browsers where you have tested this issue: Safari 5: OK Firefox 4.x: OK IE 7/8/9: OK What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Go to resca.thimpress.com or www.atmastel.com and let the page load. 2. The page does not scroll down with the Mouse wheel or the MAC touchpad, unless you single click on the page and drag down 3. Tried with other browsers and on smartphones and it still works. Problem is only on Chrome for desktop, on WIN and on MAC What is the expected result? The page should scroll as usual with the mouse wheel or the touchpad, like on other websites What happens instead of that? The page is not scrollable, to scroll down you have to single click on the page and drag it. Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if possible. UserAgentString: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_12_6) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/61.0.3163.100 Safari/537.36

BTW the bug is gone if the new (correct) behavior is disabled via command line: chrome --disable-blink-features=ScrollTopLeftInterop

Assuming this is due to CL : https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromium/src/+log/148c2697ed43abbc96e517b0c65517ebcef171b7..4cef659a8009c5cb4f5708336ae37654d23653b3

Thank you very much for the answers and pointing me to the problem on my website. Since the Theme developers are not responsive, can you teach me how to solve it, or where to read or how to disable scrollTopLeftInterop for my Chrome visitors?

Both these sites are using a jquery smooth scroll library that is modifying the document.body scrolling element only for Chrome.
Both usages of these are via:
-1 < navigator.userAgent.toLowerCase().indexOf("chrome") && (window.addEventListener("mousedown", H, !1),
window.addEventListener("mousewheel", G, !1),
window.addEventListener("load", x, !1))
I suggest you just remove the jquery smooth scroll library and all should be good. Previously in early versions (prior to Chrome 49) we didn't have smooth scrolling so this library was necessary. It hasn't been necessary in a long while (12 releases). In Chrome 61 we made the scrolling element the documentElement which matches Firefox unfortunately this Chrome only library was assuming something that isn't true anymore.

Can you let us know which Wordpress theme it is so we can keep an eye out for it?

Yes, the main theme is Resca by Thimpress on EnvatoMarket, some folks from Vietnam, http://resca.thimpress.com. That is the demo link. It was featured on ThemeForest as one of the top themes for restaurant but at the end it has a bad support, outdated solutions and slow updates

Hi Terence, It's Tung here from ThimPress. Thanks for your feedback. I'm sending some supporters to check this issue and will solve it and release a new update to this very quickly. Don't worry! However, as a representative of the company, I have to say something about your comment about "bad support, outdated solutions and slow updates". Due to the high amount of queries asked by our customers everyday, we always promise to respond to any support question in within 1 business day via official support channels like the Item page or like the Official support forum. However, in this case, you've just submitted a question via Facebook chat (a non-official support channel) a few hours ago and you already come to such a conclusion. Also, our FB bots even advised you to create a support topic on the forum but you seemed to have neglected that. Meanwhile, I even have to come here and reply to your question so I hope you know how hard work and sincere we are. Regards, Tung @ ThimPress

moschiq@ seems you are using a smooth scroll library. I recommend removing it. See https://github.com/simov/simplr-smoothscroll/issues/27

If you removed this line from your main page I believe all would be fixed... <script type='text/javascript' src='http://haltech-group.pl/wp-content/plugins/cherry-parallax/js/jquery.simplr.smoothscroll.min.js?ver=1.0'></script>

Here is the dilemma Chrome 61 and below: use document.body Chrome 62 and newer: use document Safari: use document.body What checks should we do in order to support all browsers?
,

You should use document.scrollingElement if it is available. If will return either body or document appropriately. It has been in major browsers for a few years specifically designed to address this issue. See https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/document/scrollingElement
