This is not just limited to Outlook, ANY hyperlink from any application will open new windows only. Chrome handles hyperlinks correctly if I click any hyperlink from within chrome, but any 3rd party app will not open the hyperlink, just a new window entirely.

I have the same problem and am too frustrated by opening the external links through copy-paste rather than by a click. I am making Safari as the default browser until this problem is fixed.

I can confirm that this behavior exists. I had to (temporarily I hope!) make Safari my default browser. Once I did that, links from Outlook emails opened correctly.

SOLUTION: I have found that the latest version of Chrome has this problem resolved. Version 61.0.3163.100 (Official Build) (64-bit)
